Adjustments for Golf in 2016 Olympics Up in the Air

Posted on 12 October 2009 by Brian

Though golf has been officially included in the roster of 2016 Olympic events, there are still some kinks that need to be ironed out. Where will they play or how they will play are two of the best questions that sum it all up. Rio de Janeiro is an awesome spot, but not for golf. They do have two golf courses but if they don’t make the grade, golf will be held at neighboring regions. This could be at any of the following:

  • Buzios Golf Club & Resort (Buzios)
  • Itanhanga Golf Club (Rio de Janeiro)
  • Sao Paulo Golf Club (Sao Paulo)

If not, the games may be tweaked to perform at the two existing golf courses in Brazil. Between the two options, it looks like the first one (playing in nearby regions) seems to be the feasible one.
