Cancer is the worst disease in the world. Although this disease has treatment only a few patients of cancer survive. Jboey Rippel also faced this disease at the age of 16 when his life was going good and he was the sparkling star in the world of golf. He competed against some of the best amateurs the Houston area has to offer and placing 32nd.

Joey Rippel had a tumor half the size of his chest and was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on Oct. 2 of last year. After diagnoses he recieved chemo and radiation cancer treatment at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center on Feb. 21.

After recieving the treatment he is feeling good and when the 2008 Men’s Greater Houston City Amateur Championship begins today at Memorial Park he will be playing with a very strong mind and he wants to show the world that he can still be much better. Joey Rippel also wants to help other who are facing with the dieses of cancer and he has setup a non-profit charity foundation named The Rippel Effect.

“I wanted to turn my negative experience into a positive thing,” Rippel said. “I wanted to share my experiences and pass it on.”

When the ball hit David Whitfield a doctor was standing near him made him lay down put some pressure on his wound and then David was taken to hospital where he gets some stitches under the skin.

Whitfield said he’s still a little sore, and that his eye is swollen. He said he’s actually fairly lucky.

“I got hit in the right place,” said Whitfield, who sells real estate at Sugarloaf Country Club. “If I had been hit anywhere else it would have torn my face all to pieces.”

It can happen to anyone,” he said.

After claiming maiden title at the BMW Championship three weeks ago Colombian Camilo Villegas wins Tour Championship in a playoff at East Lake Golf Club on Sunday.The pair finished the 72 regulation holes on seven-under-par 273, Garcia parring the last for a 71 and Villegas closing with an eight-birdie 66.By winning this event village also gets a cheque for $1.26 million (£688,478).

“Winning is awesome,” Villegas said after closing with a 4-under 66.

“Probably the shot of the tournament there,” Villegas said. “There’s a great chance the ball is going to plug if it comes up short in that bunker, and a yard long and it’s in the water. So it’s just hit and beg. It happened to be just fine.”

There is an interesting event occured on friday when john Daly’s ex-wife accused of stealing his phone.According to police the cell phone was stealed from his tour bus then on John Daly’s complaint filed early June police invested Sherrie Daly, 32, had cooperated in an investigation and then she surrendered on friday and policeissued an arrest warrant for her on friday freed on $500 bond. now Sherrie Daily  will face the court on 9th october on the charge.Isn’t it too strange to face the court for just a cell phone.

Kimbell said Friday that John Daly had called police about 2:20 a.m. on June 4 to complain that the cell phone had been stolen from a bus parked behind the John Daly Bar & Grill in Olive Branch.

“He believed the phone had come up missing sometime during the night after his ex-wife had left the bus,” Kimbell said. He said John Daly had told investigators he believed Sherrie Daly took the phone.
