There are hundreds of thousands of golf courses dotted round most countries of the globe. The sport encloses all races and economic groups. The courses can be built almost anywhere often the more erratic and difficult the ground the better it is. This week’s championship at royal Berkdale showed the best in the world fighting through wind and rain to win the coveted title on offer. The difference with golf over many sports is that virtually anyone can tomorrow play the same game on the same course with the same equipment, although the same ability is debateable.
The courses in many cases are scenic and by nature include numerous examples of flora and fauna, trees, bushes and hedgerow being an integral part of the experience. The added hazards of water and sand make the opportunities for beauty increase. One other thing that happens due to the varied locations of the courses is that it’s nearly impossible to have two courses the same, even those that employ professional designers. The varied scenery and different topography are selling points for prospective players who want a challenge and a change from the usual.

Like all sports to get far you need help and tips to reach the top, this where golf schools come in. It’s a chance to learn tips from professionals and to practise the correct way. Golf in the main is a natural game and one that can be played to a point almost anywhere but to get to the levels of Tiger Woods, you will need some help along the way. The game involves many things and so a bit of fine tuning along the way could make a massive difference, whether it’s holding your head still during a shot or working out the exact club to choose for a shot. The whole action involved in taking a shot involves so many movements and techniques that getting one wrong can lessen your resulting shot by hundreds of yards, that’s the difference between success and failure in completion. With millions being avaidible to the top players there are always people who want a bit of the fame cake.
While as with every sport there is a need for natural talent help will be of benefit. The whole action of the club swing through to hitting the ball involves all your limbs and your head being co ordinate throughout. Though before that you have to get the initial stance right, where you stand from the ball and how you prepare for the shot you intend to play. Of course to go with the physical aspects of the game there is the mental abilities as well. The ability to lock out noise and distraction, the ability to see where their ball is going and to keep your body steady all the way through the shot. The slightest twitch, head movement or movement of the club off line will make a major difference.
Although you will see different stances and club sizes if you watch the top golfers the basics that you would be taught at a golf school will remain basically the same. You will also learn about the trickier aspects of the game where learning will beat natural ability, lessons on how to avoid obstacles such as sand traps and what to do when you enter one, how to make the ball spin backwards or forwards when landing would be an advanced lesson to learn. Another advanced lesson would be the ability to decide the direction you will hit the ball in terms of bending the flight and dealing with different direction winds. Practise wins but a proper education helps.
