All of us will surely miss a great player Tom watson in championship tour an eight-time major winner on the PGA TOUR, 12-time Champions Tour winner. He will not be playing champions tour this time because of his arthroscopic surgery of his left hip.He has been fighting with pain from 2004.Watson managed to play through the pain and win twice on the Champions Tour in 2008, including a win.He was using medicines to decrease the intensity of pain but now as the pain increases he has no way except surgery.Dr. Joel Matta of Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica,  will be performing a total hip replacement procedure on Watson’s left hip.

“This will be the first surgery I’ve had in my life,” Watson told Mechelle Voepel, a newswriter for Watson’s hometown paper, the Kansas City Star. “The only reason I’m doing it is to get rid of the pain. It’s a quality of life decision. Fortunately, the medical world knows how to do this procedure very well. They have a great track record.”

Watson will not be wasting time while away.He will be busy with his own golf course design and he is also  trying to learn spanish language which will help him in his business.

“The good thing about this procedure is I can put full weight on it immediately,” he said to Voepel. “I’ll be using a walker, then a cane, and then without a cane. How long does all that take? Nobody knows for sure. It could be 10 days to 2½ weeks before I’m walking without a cane.”
